Highlands Ranch is served by four private schools, 15 public elementary schools, four middle schools, and four high schools. Our schools, part of the highly acclaimed Douglas County School District, are committed to the pursuit of knowledge, development of learning skills, understanding of ideas and values, and active encouragement of individual potential. Thousands of parents have asked about academics, test scores, safety, and extracurricular activities, and they've been greatly satisfied by what they've learned.

Year-round schooling gives Highlands Ranch students an educational edge. Educational experts believe children retain more of what they learn on this type of schedule, compared with systems that incude long vacation periods. Year-round schools distribute breaks throughout the year, maximizing efficient use of the facilities and allowing teachers to spend less time reviewing and more time teaching new concepts.

Volunteers and citizen committees work together to create school environments that truly reflect the Highlands Ranch community.
